Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling in Ventura County

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodels for Ventura County Homes

Kitchens and bathrooms are where remodels earn their keep. Master Construction has handled kitchen and bathroom remodeling across Ventura County since 1994, taking these hardworking rooms from design and demolition through cabinets, counters, tile, plumbing, and lighting. Our licensed crews (Lic. #1027281) manage the whole remodel under one roof, so you deal with one team and one schedule instead of a parade of subcontractors.

Remodels Designed Around How You Live

A beautiful kitchen that fights you every morning is a failed kitchen. We start by learning how your family cooks, gathers, and gets ready for the day, then design the layout, storage, and lighting around it. Our in house 3D renderings let you walk through the new space before demo day, so the finished room feels like it was always meant to be there.

The craft shows in the wet areas. Showers get a proper waterproofing membrane, flood tested overnight before a single tile goes on. Tile gets laid out from the centerline of the room so the cuts land where you will not see them. Cabinets are scribed to walls that are never quite straight, and countertop templates come after the cabinets are set, not from a floor plan. Soft close hardware gets adjusted door by door before we call a punch list done.

Our Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling Process

A remodel should not take over your life. Here is how we keep it on track:

  • Design and selections. Layouts, renderings, and help choosing cabinets, counters, tile, and fixtures.
  • Clear pricing. A detailed scope and budget you approve before work begins.
  • Demo and rough work. Careful demolition, then plumbing and electrical brought up to code.
  • Build and finish. Cabinets, counters, tile, paint, and fixtures installed by craftsmen who sweat the details.
  • Final walkthrough. We punch out every item until you are happy to sign off.

Full Service Means Actually Full Service

Because we are a full service general contractor, your remodel does not stall waiting on outside trades. Plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, and paint are all our people. If we open a wall and find surprises, which older Ventura County homes love to provide, we have the licensed trades on hand to fix it properly and keep moving.

Local plumbing history matters in this county. Homes in Oxnard and Santa Paula from the 1960s and 70s often carry galvanized supply lines or cast iron drains that deserve replacing while the walls are already open. Kitchen and bathroom remodels out in Somis bring their own wrinkle, since many ranch properties there run on septic systems that decide where a new drain can and cannot go. California requires low flow fixtures at remodel, and coastal bathrooms need real ventilation because the marine layer never takes a day off. We plan for all of it in the scope, so inspection day is boring.

If a bathroom already has stone, terrazzo or quarry tile worth keeping, bringing it back usually costs less than tearing it out. That is its own trade, and we cover it under stone and floor restoration.

Questions

Kitchen and Bath Remodels - FAQ

How long will I be without a kitchen or bathroom?

It depends on whether plumbing and electrical move and how much structural work is involved. The honest answer is that we give you a schedule for your specific scope after the walkthrough. What we will not do is quote a number to win the job and then extend it three times.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Ventura County?

There is no honest flat number, but the drivers are consistent. Moving plumbing and gas, electrical upgrades, cabinetry level, countertop material, and whether walls come out. Layout changes cost far more than finishes. Keeping the sink and range where they are is the single biggest lever on price.

Do you handle the whole job or do I hire trades separately?

The whole job. Demolition, plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, flooring, cabinets, counters, and paint run under one contract and one schedule.

Do kitchen and bath remodels need permits?

Yes when plumbing or electrical is moved or added, when walls change, or when ventilation changes. Replacing cabinets and counters in place usually does not. We pull what is required and handle inspections.

How do you keep dust out of the rest of the house?

Plastic zip walls seal the work zone, floor protection runs from the front door to the room, and a fan exhausts dust out a window instead of into your hallway. Water shutoffs get scheduled and announced, not sprung on you mid shower. The crew sweeps and stacks tools at the end of every day. You are living twenty feet from the work, and we never forget it.

Should I reface my cabinets or replace them?

If the boxes are solid plywood and the layout works, refacing with new doors, drawer fronts, and hardware saves real money and looks new. If the boxes are worn particleboard, the layout fights you, or you want different storage, replacement is the honest recommendation. We will tell you which camp your kitchen falls in at the walkthrough, even when the answer is the cheaper one.

Can you remodel a bathroom for aging in place?

Yes, and the time to do it is while the walls are open. Curbless showers, blocking in the walls for future grab bars, comfort height toilets, lever handles, and slip resistant tile can all be built in without the room looking clinical. Done during a remodel, these details cost little. Done later as a retrofit, they cost a second remodel.

Can you show me what it will look like first?

Yes. 3D renderings let you see the layout, finishes, and sight lines before demolition starts, which is a much cheaper place to change your mind than halfway through tile.
