Your Solar Contractor in Ventura
Panels, Batteries & Panel Upgrades · Licensed & Insured · Lic. #1027281
Solar in Ventura pencils differently than it did five years ago, and honest math matters more than ever. Under NEM 3.0, exported power earns little, which moves the value into batteries and self-consumption, and the marine layer takes a real but modest bite out of morning production. Master Construction installs solar across Ventura as a licensed general contractor (Lic. #1027281), which means the roof, the panel and the array are one scope instead of three companies pointing at each other.
Coastal Solar, Honestly Measured
The marine layer burns off most days by late morning, and annual production here remains strong; the fog costs a percentage, not the project. What actually decides Ventura solar economics now is consumption timing. NEM 3.0 pays little for exports, so systems get sized to what the house uses, and a battery converts cheap midday sun into expensive evening power. That battery is no longer an accessory; for most new installs it is the business case.
The coast taxes the hardware too. Racking, fasteners and grounding lugs live in salt air, and marine-rated components cost slightly more and last decades longer. Electronics placement matters: inverters and batteries mounted out of direct salt exposure age on their warranty schedule instead of ahead of it.
And the roof beneath is half the project. Panels routinely outlive underlayment, and installing an array over roofing near the end of its life schedules a costly removal and reinstall. We evaluate the roof first and tell you plainly if it should be renewed before anything lands on it.
Sized, Wired and Permitted as One Job
Design starts from your actual usage and the utility's current rules: array sized to consumption, battery sized to your evening load and outage priorities, and a load calculation that tells the truth about your electrical service. Many Ventura homes need panel work to host solar plus the EV charger that usually follows, and doing it once, in the same permit, beats doing it twice.
Installation is roof work done by people who respect roofs: flashed and sealed penetrations, wire management that survives inspection and weather, and conduit runs placed like someone will look at the house for thirty years afterward.
We carry the VenturaOPS permit, the utility interconnection application and the inspection schedule ourselves, through permission to operate. You get one contract, one schedule and one company responsible for the watts actually showing up.
Why Ventura Goes Solar With Us
Solar-only companies sell arrays. We deliver working systems on sound roofs with adequate electrical service, because we are the contractor for all three. When the load calc says the panel is tapped out, or the roof says paper-first, that work happens inside the same project instead of becoming your problem between vendors.
Landlords and HOA boards come to us for the questions solar salesmen dodge: common-area systems, battery backup for critical loads, roof warranty coordination on shared buildings, and architectural approvals where panels face the street. Documentation and insurance certificates arrive before the first ladder does.
Every system is permitted, inspected and interconnected properly, with the paperwork organized for the day you sell the house. Unpermitted solar is a transaction problem we get called to fix; ours never becomes one.

FAQ
Ventura Solar - FAQ
Does solar still make sense under NEM 3.0?
Yes, with the design updated to the rules. Exports earn little now, so systems get sized to what you consume and paired with a battery that shifts midday production into evening use. Sized that way, the economics work; sized like it is 2019, they disappoint. We run your actual numbers.
Do I need a battery?
For most new Ventura installs, the battery is the point: it captures value NEM 3.0 no longer pays for exports and keeps the house running through outages. Size depends on your evening load and what you want alive when the grid is not. We model both before quoting.
How much does the marine layer cost me?
A real but modest percentage, concentrated in mornings, and already included in any honest production estimate for this coast. Afternoon and summer production carry the year. If a proposal shows desert numbers for a beach-adjacent roof, that proposal is selling, not estimating.
Should I re-roof before going solar?
If the roof has less life left than the panels do, yes, and it is much cheaper as one project than as a panel-removal surprise in year eight. We evaluate the roof as step one and give it to you straight either way.
Will my electrical panel handle solar?
The load calculation decides. Many older Ventura panels host solar fine; many need an upgrade, especially once an EV charger enters the plan. Because our electricians are in-house, the panel work rides the same permit and schedule instead of stalling the install.
How long from contract to power?
Installation itself takes days. The calendar lives in design, VenturaOPS plan check, and the utility's interconnection and permission-to-operate steps. We run all of it and give you a schedule with those phases visible instead of promised away.
Do you install for HOAs and rentals?
Yes. Common-area and multi-unit systems, street-facing architectural approvals, roof warranty coordination, owner-versus-tenant billing questions answered up front, insurance certificates on file.
